Part 1: Regular Maintenance and Oil Quality
Filter Replacement and Cleaning:
- Adhere to the Schedule: Replace the gearbox filter according to the manufacturer's recommended intervals.
- Thorough Cleaning: Clean the filter screen, drain plug magnet, and vent plug to remove debris and contaminants.
- Proper Oil Level: Ensure the gearbox is filled with the correct amount of lubricating oil.
Oil Viscosity:
- Avoid Excessive Viscosity: High-viscosity oil can hinder transmission efficiency, leading to poor fluid flow and inadequate heat dissipation. It can also cause excessive friction between moving parts, accelerating wear.
- Prevent Low Viscosity: Low-viscosity oil can increase leakage, reduce oil pressure, and compromise the strength of the oil film between heavily loaded components, resulting in premature wear.
