Does China's first forklift run on electricity or oil?

The birth of the first forklift

In 1917, the American CLARK Equipment Company launched the three-wheeled platform industrial vehicle "Tructractor", which is considered to be the original appearance of a forklift, but it actually has no forks. In 1924, CLARK installed a gantry and lifting chain device on the basis of the Duat tractor, which can lift 1,000 pounds of cargo. The world's first true internal combustion powered forklift was born.

Application and promotion of forklifts

During World War II, forklifts were widely used by the US military for loading and unloading at airports and ports, which strongly promoted the rapid development and application of forklift technology and made it gradually known to the public.

The emergence of electric forklifts

In the 1940s, the British company Bosch produced the first electric three-wheel forklift in Europe. Later, Sweden also joined the ranks of forklift research and development. Electric forklifts began to be used in working conditions with high environmental requirements due to their advantages such as no pollution and low noise.

The development of forklifts in China

In 1953, China's Shenyang Electrical Machinery Factory successfully trial-produced the first 2t battery truck. In September 1954, Shenyang Electrical Machinery Factory successfully trial-produced China's first 1.5t counterbalanced battery forklift. In June 1958, Dalian Machinery Manufacturing No. 1 Factory successfully trial-produced China's first 5t internal combustion counterbalanced forklift. In July 1959, Dalian Hoisting and Transport Machinery Factory successfully trial-produced a 1.5t battery forklift.

What is unexpected is that Chinas first forklift is actually an electric forklift!

Since then, China's forklift industry has continued to develop. In the late 1970s, it began to introduce forklift production technology from developed countries such as Japan and Germany, which further promoted the progress of China's forklift technology and industrial upgrading. In 1996, Shandong Mingyu Heavy Industry Machinery Co., Ltd. was established in Laizhou City, Yantai, Shandong Province. It was one of the earliest companies to take root in the machinery industry.

Today, Mingyu now covers an area of 200,000 square meters and has 12 modern production workshops with an annual output of 80,000 complete vehicles. Among them, there are more than 100 R&D personnel with strong scientific research strength. The company has more than 200 patents and more than 40 invention patents. 90% of the patents have been transformed and implemented.

At present, the company has formed a series of products of construction machinery including loaders, forklifts and excavators.

It is widely used in many industries such as agriculture, water conservancy, construction, mining, warehousing, cargo handling, etc. The company has won honors such as "National High-tech Enterprise", "National Specialized Small Giant Enterprise", "Shandong Provincial Industrial Design Center", "Shandong Engineering Research Center", "Shandong Manufacturing Single Champion Enterprise", and "Shandong Gazelle Enterprise".

The company's products are exported to dozens of countries and regions in North America, Europe, Asia, Africa, etc., and more than 400 distribution outlets have been established across the country. The company adheres to the service tenet of "win-win cooperation and touching users". In the field of small and medium-sized construction machinery, Mingyu Heavy Industry has innovatively established Mingyu Heavy Industry 4S stores across the country.

In the new era, the company is willing to work hand in hand with customers at home and abroad to move forward side by side, achieve mutual benefit and win-win results, and create brilliance together!
